White fillings

White Fillings

Older style amalgam fillings tend to last 10-20 years before suffering cracks, stains or corrosion. Like many long-term items, these amalgam fillings need occasional repair or replacement.

Old, cracked fillings can compromise your health. Any cracks and spaces will harbour bacteria, and healthy tooth surface can be ruined. New WHITE fillings help to keep your teeth long term. New fillings prevent the build-up of bugs in cracks, and closing the internal spaces in a damaged tooth also prevents crumbling and fracturing.

Older style amalgam fillings are always easy to spot. They look and feel like metal. By contrast, new white fillings look neat and clean, feel quite normal, and are the next best thing to replacing the whole filling.
